Backstreet Boys – In a World Like This – Album Review!!!

The boys have finally released their follow-up to the 2009 “This Is Us” after a long wait. And this time with the fifth original member, Kevin Richardson back in the group. The group is a perfect package with all sorts of voices that a group would need: Nick – the perfect disc voice; AJ – the rock star voice; Brian – One of the most beautiful male voice singer voice that I have heard (I’m not just saying that and yes I have heard a lot of artists, before anyone says that “this guy knows nothing”); Howie – A voice which doesn’t require any auto-tune and still sounds as if it’s on auto-tune even when he is talking; and then the voice that just came back to where it belongs, Kevin – The soothing one, and when these voices come together as one to sing a chorus, leaves people speechless. The album came out on the 30th of this past month (July), with various songs released on different web sites as the album release date approached closer.

The album starts off with the already quiet popular title track “In a World Like This” which is an upbeat song about being able to find and hold on to true love in world where we live in today. Then comes “Permanent Stain” which was released as a promotional single about a month ago, which again is an upbeat song with a lively music, maintaining the pace and effect till the end. Then comes one of my personal favorites from the album “Breathe“. It is a beautiful song with beautiful music with a slow tempo and off course beautiful singing by the quintet. Next is “Madeleine“, which is a motivational song to rise up against all the odds and be strong when you feel all is lost and gone. Really beautiful lyrics to motivate someone to get back up after whatever sort of fall one has suffered. Follows one of my clear favorites from the album “Show ‘Em (What You’re Made of)“. One just can’t resist oneself from banging his/her head to the beats of the song. Gives a flavor of OneRepublic sort of music but then the singing shouts loud that “Backstreet’s Back”!!! Then there are songs like “Make Believe“, Try“, “Trust Me“, which are wonderful examples of how with beautiful and meaningful lyrics a song would be way better than the “popular” songs that get most of the hype these days. To highlight the song “Try“, its a beautiful one man show for AJ McLean, who has sung the entire song with the boys joining in for the chorus. Next is “Love Somebody” which I found a bit on a lower level than the rest of songs that precede it. “One Phone Call” is a perfect boy band song. “Feels Like Home” is a song boasting about the boys being around for over 20 years now and touring around the world for their fans so many times that every other country and city feels like home to them. “Soldier” is another song which I felt that starts off pretty well, but the chorus tune could’ve been more catchier. The album ends with a nice pop and peppy song talking about leaving a “Light On” for the loved one.

Well, I have always said this and would say it again, I would be a really bad choice to review a Backstreet Boys album. To me album is beautiful. Their last album “This Is Us” was good but didn’t live up to the Backstreet standards somehow. The album that was released before it “Unbreakable” was another beautiful album. But I can safely say that “In a World Like This” is better than Unbreakable at some level.

I would give “In a World Like This” an easy 4.5 stars out of 5. And that’s not just because it’s a Backstreet Boys album.

So… What do you feel???

Backstreet Boys – In a World Like This (Video)

The Backstreet Boys released their brand new title track from their upcoming album “In a World Like This”, named the same on the 3rd of July, and now have released the official video for the amazing song.

The song basically speaks about finding true love in world where there is hatred, misconceptions, lack of trust and all sorts of negativity. It talks about being able to find the one that you actually love or is the best suited for you amongst all the commotion that is going around in the world. Its about having the faith in true love and not letting anything else get in the way, as the lyrics go…
“In a world like this where some back down…I, know we’re gonna make it…In a time like this where love comes ’round…I, know we gotta take it…In a world like this where people fall apart…In a time like this where nothing comes from the heart…In a world like this, I’ve got you”.

The video shows the boys singing in a background similar to the one that was shot in their single from “Unbreakable” named “Helpless when She Smiles”, with three couples (old couple, straight and gay couple) shown simultaneously, finding love in the tough world that we live in. The video is without a doubt, beautiful.

The album comes out on the 30th of July worldwide. So do you feel that the Backstreet’s back???

Backstreets Back with a “Permanent Stain” pretty Permanent!

Every blog posting about these guys have been writing this particular line and I am not gonna hold back coz nothing else suits better… “BACKSTREET’S BACK ALRIGHT!!!” Ahh… now I can work peacefully!

The guys have been working their ass off creating a follow-up to their last album “This Is Us”, which came out back in 2009 and this time with the 5th original member ‘Kevin Richardson’ back in the group. The group for the first time performed live their new upcoming single “Permanent Stain” on Good Morning America and the song is AMAZING! The song has got the perfect music, the perfect lyrics and of course… the perfect voices singing the song! Backstreet has shown how tough they can make the so called “boy band war” when actually there is no real competition for these guys. I my opinion, not just the other boy bands, but also all the other artists should start worrying now that boys have geared up! The group released a lyrics video on YouTube recently for the same song. Watch it right here…

How did you like the single??? The single would be out for free download for the fans who purchase the tickets to the “In a World Like This Tour” starting 20th May. The 8th studio album of the boys is titled “In A World Like This” and would be coming out on the 30th of July worldwide. I can’t wait to listen to the album and review it!

Christmas Gift from The Backstreet Boys!!! – New Single!!!

The Backstreet Boys are coming back with an early Christmas gift for all of their fans! The boys will be performing for a TV taping on the 4th of November at Disneyland for a Christmas Special! And the biggest news of all is that the boys are gonna release a brand new single on the 6th of November titled “It’s Christmas Time Again”. They have already released a small preview of the song via twitter and boy does  it sound amazing! I say say this almost every time I post anything related to the Backstreet Boys, but I am not exactly the best choice for a critic when it comes to reviewing a BSB material! So listen to the preview right here and decide for yourself!

So? Backstreet’s Back or what?! And a shoutout to my buddy Vinitneo for giving me  an early birthday present by telling me about this news!!! Thanks bro!

Weather Report: Its Gonna Rain BOYBANDS Again!!!

Okay!!! this is my first post in almost 2 months now… Never thought that this would ever happen!!! I almost forgot the password for my account on WordPress!  That’s a sin! Still… I’ll forgive myself this last time!

So… it kinda has already started to drizzle Boybands, with “One Direction”, “The Wanted”, “Big Time Rush” ruling the charts everywhere and filling up arenas with girls screaming at the top of their voices!!! Ironically the music that is playing right now from my playlist is “Chasing the Sun” by “The Wanted”. Regular readers of this blog might be aware that I have been a hardcore Backstreet fan, still not a fan of every other boyband that comes and goes. Well… it kinda appears that, two boybands, namely “Backstreet Boys” and “New Kids on the Block”, uniting forces to form “NKOTBSB”, reminded music industry managers across “ohhh yeah… the boyband thing” and then they started working towards building one of their own.

Other than these new emerging ones, there are other boybands, who have been around since a long time or are re-uniting after a long time. The ones that are re-uniting are “NKOTB” and “Blue”, and the one that has been around for years now is “Backstreet Boys”, which has released 7 studio albums in these years, and now that their fifth member Kevin Richardson has joined the group back, they are recording their 8th album which has been hinted to come out early next year (2013).

There was another boyband that had formed not that long ago, causing girls going wild and crying to get a glimpse of them, a band of brothers, “The Jonas Brothers”. But then again, like they say, somethings never change. Like many other bands that have come and gone in the past, with the rise of fame, the Jonas Brothers considered following their own interest more important than the band’s interest. Something similar happened with a hot among fans boyband in the past, which used to compete with the Backstreet Boys neck to neck, *Nsync.

Not to worry though, we still have enough boybands that would be active and perhaps a few more  join the competition soon. Boybands are pretty difficult to form, to maintain, to produce and to manage, but once you hit the right chords with the correct fan base, you can assure a pretty good career at least for a decade in the future and maybe more if you know how to deliver the change that the fans need. Coz time has proven that boybands do have heavy load of loyal, real serious fanbase, ready to do anything to see their favorite band perform live and make new music.

Out of the new bandwagon, if I had to select one, it would be One Direction. And then there always have been my all time favorite the Backstreet Boys, who are better than ever right now. So, what do you feel about the boybands striking back? Love it? Hate it? Doesn’t really matter?

Backstreet’s No Longer ‘Incomplete’!!!

Backstreet’s back… Alright!!!

The original fifth member of the sales record-breaking boy band Kevin Richardson, has finally decided to come back to the rest of the boys. The announcement was made by the remaining four members of the group at their live concert at O2 arena London. He would be recording the next album of the group which also by the way, would be coming out this very year. Maybe this was the reason that the boys didn’t put out any new material in over 2 years now, after their last album “This Is Us” which came out in 2009. The fans at the stadium went crazy (of-course) on hearing the news and so did I, since I have been a hardcore fan of the group for years now.

Here is the video with the boys announcing the return of Kevin at O2 stadium…

And now we can truly say “Oh my God they’re BACK again!!!”

Stranded on an Island? Albums to Keep Yourself in Senses!!!

So, here is the idea… you go out with your friends on a ship to visit an island in some god forsaken corner of the planet Earth. You, being all adventurous kind of a person, head out into the far depth of the island all by yourself, without carrying your cellphone with you. Now, it has been almost over a day that you thought of yourself being Indiana Jones into the island, and the rest of the crew decides to leave and continue their trip or head back to civilization and most important of all… they forget that you are no where close to them. Now, in such a case, (forget about food, shelter and clothing. Consider you have enough of all of that and happen to find an abandoned tent to stay in) what are the albums that you should have to stay in your senses??? Think it sounds stupid? Wait till you get into such scenario and hope “Dude… Why the hell didn’t I read that post completely!!? Darn it!” and slap yourself left and right! Well… worry not… En-Fiesta comes to your rescue! Here is a list of the albums that I personally think should help anyone stay in his/her senses!

1) Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP

The album that changed the face of Hip-Hop and helped Eminem take a step further towards becoming the King of rap he is today! Tracks that say different stories of the rapper’s life, some funny, some serious, some raging, and of course…some obscene, not only make this album one of the best that Eminem has released in his career so far but also a must have album for anyone who knows what rap is or even for those who don’t know what rap is!

2) Linkin Park – Meteora

The second studio album of the rock band Linkin Park, which sounded as if the band was saying, “Dude… We know how it is to be done!”…And boy did that work! Each track in the album is a killer one. You listen to one track, you think “Gosh this is the best one”, and then you go on to the next track and you think “Wait-a-minute…even this is the best track”, and this goes on till the last track of the album!

3) Backstreet Boys – Unbreakable

A really fabulous album that went severely unnoticed. The sixth studio album from the boy-band is literally a lyrical bomb. The album has everything, from club banger “Everything But Mine” to adult contemporary “Helpless When She Smiles” to pop rock “Any Other Way” to soul touching songs like “Unmistakable” and each of them with awesome lyrics. The album would come in handy whenever you start missing your loved ones back at your home. The album has everything for every mood that a normal human being could possibly have.

4) Michael Jackson – Number Ones

Seriously! Do you really want me to describe about this now? I mean… the greatest hits collection from the (and when I say ‘the’, I mean “THE”) King of Pop doesn’t need any thing being said for it…does it now? So don’t you dare forget this one!

5) Now this could be anything that you want… I mean…you should have your own current favorites with you too right? So this could be anything right from Cold Play to John Mayor to Gaga(Boy do I hate her! You would never find even a single song of her’s in my playlist EVER! Don’t ask reasons.) to Bruno Mars to James Blunt to anyone! Well If I were you, I would select one from either Cold Play or John Mayor or maybe both… coz the remaining genres get covered by the first four from the list.

This is what I would have with me, in case such kind of a situation comes up. I am pretty sure that these should be more than sufficient for you to survive in an island all alone. Well problem could arise if your battery runs out and you don’t have a spare one to replace it with.

Some of you might have different opinions regarding some of the albums that I have recommended here. Do feel free to suggest me about some other albums that you think would be a better fit in such a case.
